I kept telling you that Sharon was holding a centrist course in Israeli politics. So is it surprising he gets criticized from the right for not being hawkish enough?

As wars go, I think future historians may regard the Israeli/Pal conflict as a special case. Other wars all have their political and diplomatic components; and propaganda and publicity all play a part too. But hardly anywhere else do you have such a low-grade, slow-motion kind of conflict get so much publicity and political attention from so many quarters at once, not to mention the outright meddling. It alters the normal rules for a fight; things happen in slow-motion most of the time. It's more like watching a flood than a war.
