TP, you are so right. How were the Democrats in Congress ever elected? As a group, they are a
bunch of wimps. There are exceptions, but, as you suggested, they won't stand up for anything.
Perhaps younger Democrats will kick them out of office.

If Nancy will speak out and not be sucked into a cozy friendship with Bush, which
was Gephardt's problem, I believe she will do well. She is gutsy and smart. She wouldn't have been
elected minority leader if she was unable to to transcend labels. I don't think it will be that difficult for her to do.

As far as Karl Rove goes, I wouldn't believe anything he says about Nancy because it isn't in his interest to make positive comments about her. If you want to find people whose minds are stuck in a log jam.
just look at George W. Bush, Cheney, Rummy, Rove, Rice, O'Neill, Tom Delay, Ashcroft
and now we have a former crook Poindexter at the White House as well. I assume
Poindexter got the job.

When many Americans die in Bush's never-ending wars, they'll probably have second thoughts about
the positive benefits of war and how Bush's big corporate donors benefit from his never-ending
wars and threats of terrorism. It is in Bush's interest to keep Americans frightened.
