I've been out in -40 F. When I was trapping the temperature sometimes dropped to -20 F. I had no trouble building a fire, but I couldn't eat my frozen apple and orange. It is damn uncomfortable, especially when you get fur and have to take your gloves off to reset the trap. I used Korean War surplus mittens and they were fantastic. I'd rather have it cold than snowing. Every inch of fresh snow makes it harder to move.
