I will become a subscriber when a "portable" AC/DC radio becomes available. One that I can use in my workshop, in my boat, my car etc.. Do you know of anyone manufacturing one of these yet. I've been watching and waiting.

Somewhere I read that Delphi was going to offer such a device before yearend. Haven't seen anything else on it yet, though...

As to the current barrier, I think the expense is less of a problem than is the hassle. My brother has one of the new T-Birds and I can't get him to put one in it -- he complains the antennas are too damned ugly...

Honestly, though, once you have one you really can't get by without it. In particular, we're sort of news-junkies, and having Fox (and now CNN) on the road is a big deal to us, as well. But I find that "Deep Tracks", "Top Tracks", and "Bluesville" almost always have stuff worth listening to -- lots of alternate takes and stuff you just don't hear on plain old radio...
