Eric,

This might be a stupid question but why is QCOM trying to specialize their MSMs. Since they have all the technology available, shouldn't they put all their R&D dollars into creating one global MSM that includes everything in QCOM's CDMA menu. It seems to me that they are waisting their time working on a whole bunch of ASICs to meet the needs of each individual market. I really hate to see QCOM turn into a job shop.

If QCOM was able to put all functions and capabilities into one ASIC, is it possible for operators to switch functions off and on before selling units. A good example would be a radio that has short-wave, AM, FM, etc with options for microphone, detachable speakers, rechargeable batteries, AC, and solar, etc.

Hoping you got my point,

GGamer
