Where you been?

"I'm not sure that common "it" is as obvious as you think it is."

E, for one has posted extensively and repetitively the same definition of it, as have others. There seems to be a common understanding of what she has declared to be "it," as evidenced by corroborating posts...hunnerdsov'm.

"I don't think you can blame CH for other people choosing to not see the thing the way you do."

Right. I don't think "blame" is the word I would use. I witnessed his approach to dealing with people. When someone validated some point he was making or took a neutral stand personally, he would commonly make note of their intelligence, thank them for their fairness, and remark on their exceptional character. He would also make attempts to define such people as being on his side. I received PMs like this (back when my PM was on) and felt discomfitted by it. When the same person criticised his arguement he would cast insults and accuse them of foul play. This had the effect of convincing me that it was a manipulative strategy and in alienating other participants one-by-one. You would be the single hold out but you were careful to continually define your self as the enemy to his enemies.

"I wouldn't want CH to get any blame for manipulating me to do anything."

Right. However your interaction with CH took a marked turn at the time where he found you to be the committed enemy to his enemies. It has been embarrassing to watch your response to his flatteries. He also, suddenly became very cordial and supportive of your ways of looking at most topics. You only need to continue supporting his approach to this one. He tried this with several people, you alone have been willing. You could deny if you like.

"CH as a person or alias had nothing to do with why I was against the itness of it all."

Even though I think this is true, I don't think CH does.
