DELL has blown away earnings estimates so often that it is taken now as a forgone conclusion. If DELL fails to deliver one of these blowouts, the game is up, and if they should miss estimates, the crash would be a catastrophic, I am not kidding.
But until that point, I would not even consider shorthing it. One of the stupidist things I ever did was to short DELL in a fit of boredom after one of its quick runnups last quarter. I shorted at 76, and covered on a dip at 73. With price today closing at 164 and a split coming, I feel like the lady who missed the 747 to Paris because her connection got delayed ...
