S&P Upgrades Vodafone to Accumulate
yahoo.businessweek.com
Vodafone Group (VOD ): Upgrades to 4 STARS (accumulate) from 3 STARS (hold)
Analyst: Todd Rosenbluth

S&P is impressed with the features on Vodafone's consumer and business data offerings discussed at this week's analyst meeting. Unlike its U.S. peers, Vodafone operates primarily in markets where data services have gained penetration. S&P is raising the fiscal 2004 (Mar.) earnings per share estimate on the ADR by four cents to $1.06. There are risks related to its Cegetel ownership position, but S&P sees the world's largest wireless carrier as attractive relative to European peers on a p-e basis and given less competitive pressures than its U.S. brethren.
