" As many as 300,000 Californians will see their federal unemployment benefits cut off three days after Christmas because House and Senate leaders could not agree to extend a program to help those hit hardest by the recent recession. "

Bush has never helped those who were hard hit by the recession or the rise in electricity rates. When
the energy companies manipulated the rate increases in California and elsewhere, Bush refused to do
anything about it even though the Governor of California asked him to do so. I believe Governor Locke
from Washington State also asked for help.

When folks were getting hit by a high increase in electricity rates, Cheney was meeting behind closed
doors with the utility companies, such as ENRON. And as you know, Enron was George W. Bush's biggest
campaign contributor and Cheney will not release the minutes of those meetings with Enron.

Also, Dick Cheney complained about the hike in his electric bill and he got Congress to pay for his
electric bill. In the past, Gore had paid part of it.

By the way, Boeing announced today that it will be laying off 5,000 more employees. Bank of America
announced yesterday that it would also cut jobs.
