I had to cover today

I've been short an average of $62, and covered today around $67. I shorted the post earnings downturn ebay usually experiences, but it simply did not materialize this time. Going into their strongest annual Xmas quarter, I just don't want to risk being short no matter how strongly I feel about it. I'd rather preserve my capitol so I can short again mid-January when Xmas is behind us. The combination of Goldman Saks controlling 50% of EBAY outstanding shares, and overall strength in online vs. B&M consumer sales finally forced my hand.

I'm sorry if my short opinions recently lost anyone money, but I recommend now either covering so you can short again later, or at least NOT averaging up your positions.

I won't be going long, since ebay is now outside it's familier trading range, and there are much more compelling longs to explore over the next few months.
