thecow, I finally gave in and ordered the Windows XP upgrade CD for my 600 MHz laptop. Since my HD has plenty of room, I am thinking of partitioning it to install XP. Now I read that some manufacturers' recovery CDs [containing Win98] do not qualify as proof that I'm entitled to upgrade. Did you need to insert a CD with the old Windows when you upgraded to XP?

PS: I ordered XP from Dell so I can use a coupon I have to help pay for it.
