Nadine, There is not a single reason why they should take this side of the argument, save for the fact that America is taking the other side of it. I had this same argument with my Canadian father-in-law last weekend. He argued about US unilateralism and Iraq's rights etc. Now this is the same man who argued about the US failure to enter WW2 for 2 years to help out the British empire. When I asked why we would send our sons to fight Nazi's when they had not attacked the US (or Canada for that matter), he became completely flustered. As he tried to justify why we had to fight the Nazi's I pointed out how Saddam also did all those things. Then he asked if I would risk my (dual citizenship) teenage sons in Iraq. My response was that as a parent I wouldn't want to risk my kids fighting Hitler either. Any parent who says otherwise isn't much of a parent. We let it go at that - our wives were getting on our case to change the subject :-) John
