"We always know when an honest person is telling us a story or presenting fiction because it is established apriori." If you think you always know this, you are not familiar with how easily people lie to themselves, or deceive themselves, or fail to perceive reality in anything approaching an objective way. Any study of people trying to make eyewitness reports will convince you that all people, whether they view themselves as honest or dishonest, make poor witnesses to the "truth" in this life. Some people attempt to be more honest, but I am not sure it actually gets them any closer to truthfulness.
