some thoughts from a subscriber

i have had XM in my vehicle since May of this year. very satisfied. agree w/ another poster here in saying that i can't imagine NOT having it. wish i would have waited for the delphi display cuz being able to see what's playing on another channel prior to switching is big benefit. just flipping thru can be a pain cuz the transition between stations is sometimes over 3 seconds.

main reason for purchase was due to my being annoyed by lame marketing and the commercials that run over and over on regular radio. i travel a lot for work and feel that fumbling for CDs while on the road can be hazardous. after about 6 months, i now consider it to be one the best purchases i've ever made, in terms of dollars spent versus enjoyment.

i can sit in stop and go traffic and not even care about being delayed becuz there's an entire library of audio at my finger tips. sometimes i go for an easy cruise around the lake just to listen to a special concert being played. there also have been times that i reached my destination but was so enjoying the music that i was reluctant to shut my car off and go about life.

which leads to the AC/DC radio issue. id be nice to have this at home as well, but i'm not willing to pay for more hardware and another subscription. a couple of my friends are also willing subscribers, but are waiting for something that's portable and can be taken to their job sites. (they're in the construction business). i agree w/ you that this is key to unlocking a much larger subscriber base.

another thing we might see more of is commercial business putting an appropriate station on their loudspeaker system and leaving it there during office hours. Or bars doing the same. Or pool halls, etc

i am planning a trip across the country this winter and looking forward to XM as my companion. this is a great product

however, i am not an investor primarily because so far, the stock's chart has told me not to be. give it time. hopefully the debt doesn't become overly burdensome. i'd be upset if this company went bankrupt.
