I don't have a lot of time to keep up the NAV, but when I was doing it, I believe I discounted the cash, debt, and private co.s/funds to zero. I only used the public portfolio value.

In that case, before the bubble, the NAV was always pretty close to the stock price, and we are back there again, which would indicate that Safeguard is being appropriately valued and should rise (or fall) with the public portfolio.
