Here's the plans for a detector I made 25 years ago. I found this in one minute with Google. Simply amazing!

These plans are for the construction of what is known as a beat frequency metal detector. They come from chapter 6 of the book Getting Started in Treasure Hunting by Alan Smith. The book was originally published by Stackpole Books in 1975 and cost $3.95. The book is long since out of print.
