Ted,

It is? Hmmmm....that's interesting. What do you feel is the cause of Type 2 diabetes?

Lifetime of high carbohydrate / high sugar food, that wears down the body, over long period of time, and it eventually manifests itself in Type 2 diabetes. Basically, most people are in some stage of diabetes, some more advanced than others.

For previous generations that were not eating the supersize fries / soft drinks, the progression was somewhat slower, but now, it is a calamity, with young adults, even children degenerating into diabetes.

The government, curiously is promoting diet, the food pyramid, that is major contributor to this.

This administration is not any better than the previous one on this subject:
"The report seems to unduly focus on soft-drink ingesting," says the response from the Department of Health and Human Services. "The evidence that soft drinks are associated with obesity is not compelling."

The actual article in the paper had political contributions by Coke and Pepsi to both parties.
