There are too problems with these guys:
1. They are wedded to mantra that human should be fed grain, which is the very reason for diabetes. It may take a decades for these jokers to do their double blind studies to find out the obvious
2. There is most likely a huge degree of interbreeding between the guys who are supposedly working on behalf of American public (CDC, NIH etc), at taxpayers' expense, and the guys for whom a new diabetes patient walking in their office is like a jackpot. Too much of a conflict of interest. My prediction is that these clowns will be the last to "discover" the cause for Type 2 diabetes.
My point is that misinformation and bias have prompted you to conclude incorrectly the cause for type 2 diabetes and reinforced your belief that people are very much responsible for their illness and should not have our sympathy at all. I disagree. I think your position stems from ignorance and is very unfair.
I think the alternative doctors who are not wedded to the rigid orthodoxy of conventional medicine are way ahead of the field. It doesn't mean that everyone has to be a sheep following the hapless conventional medicine (especially in field of diabetes). What happens to the sheep is they get slaughtered.
Suppose you decide to go out of your way and not be one of the sheep. Because of socialization of the responsibility for everyone's health, you still get slaughtered, on the financial side, because you have to pay for the bad decisions all the sheep made.
I am just expressing my opinion based on a lot of the reading on alternative side of medicine. You may call it ignorance, and bring in NIH Nazis as evidence (did I really say Nazis?), and I don't have anything to counter it - so you won (at least for now). All I can say is wait a few years, and you will realize I was right.
