It was not a money losing division although relatively low net margin. The bleeding was from infra division sold in March 1999 was. The December '99 quarter (Q1 2000) does in fact include (for the last time) revenue from handsets and my recall is that was about $400m. Easy to verify. To do an apples to apples on F2000, v. F2001 you need to back that out and also consider proceeds from the division sale. Overall 2001 was really flat to 2000 which was a poor replacement year.
