"Whether I decide to be offended by it is my problem."

I disagree. People who are in a grieving state are emotionally vulnerable and suffering. Their pain is heightened by this kind of provocation. We know that most people are not equiped to handle antagonism while in a state of grief. This is one of the situations where some people may have a choice of reactions but the emotional aspects are already programmed, so some people will react as the bear being poked in the eye. If the pushie is emotionally retarded we may make allowances. But, if this is an informed provocation, the pushie gets the majority of the responsibility.
