COLiN Powell is not a movie star but he has star status.
That's why he was overwhelmingly approved to be the Secretary of State. Star-status!!! Hair-splitting on a merest slip does not negate my point!

I have written earlier in a post to IC that Arabs have been known to be very sneaky and so pervasive is this opinion that someone once said famously, "Be anything but an Arab...."

Please do not quote me out of context: I pointed out very clearly that the extremists were vocal in their condemnation of America. I was not saying they didn't carry out sneaky attacks. In light of evidence not revealed earlier to the public, for whatever goddamned reason, it is now known that the FBI and CIA knew of the impending attacks of 9/11 well in advance but blundered away their opportunities to forestall them. It seemed that even Mubarak had passed on vital info that strangely enough was put away on the back-burner. In this light, 9/11 was a not a sneaky attack.

As a matter of fact, soon after the US failed to kill Osama with a cruise missile in Afghanistan, Osama promised spectacular reprisals. We now know that by 9/11 he kept his word. But the FBI, CIA, the Pentagon and the US government and Americans in general didn't take Osama (the cameldriver look-alike wearing a "diaper" on his head) seriously enough until it was too late. Given these facts, 9/11 was not a sneaky attack. But it was an attack that hurt America's pride and prestige greatly, to say the least. Enough said.

I don't know what to say about the sneakiness of the Palestinians as I have heard very contradictory reports. One report said that the Israelis promised the Palestinians 90% of the territory and the fact they would not accept it showed they want to destroy Israel. Another report said that most of that land is useless desert. Yet another report has it that no such deal was proposed. Looks like we have persistent propaganda and counter-propaganda. Quite understandably lots of folks tend to accept the media's presentation of the "facts" as the gospel truth. For all I know, the Palestinians and other Arabs may well be as despicable and sneaky as they have been made out to be. It could very well be that they are so sneaky and dangerous that the Coalition just simply cannot afford the luxury of not trying to solve the problem.

I think one of the major problems is that many European countries and Russia do not trust America's intentions and methods well enough. Why? Is America without faults? Is Israel without faults? I leave the answers to others.
