Dannobee, political parties exist to promote and perpetuate themselves and their members, period. All the BS about what they believe in and how much they care for the "ordinary" citizen is snakeoil horseshit, designed to lube the voter for the inevitable anatomical assault that follows.

The idea that one bunch is right and virtuous while the other is totally wrong and evil is even dumber than most of the slogans the politicians spew themselves. The fact that anyone believes it is proof that the political party con jobs work.

FWIW, I worked in government public affairs for a long time all over the world. The process is the same everywhere.
