I believe the key is to get one mainstream OEM; Nikon, Cannon, Sony, Kodak, Olympus. Assuming that X3 meets expectations, then competitive pressure will probably create, at least, Foveon digicam alternatives within the lines of all the other OEM's.
Other concerns are the strength of Foveon patents (is there prior art?). Is there an easy work around?
I'm still of the mind-set that Foveon is a longshot, but if it becomes the standard, it could be VERY valuable.
