OT: Happy Thanksgiving Mark...I've always been very involved in church - sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, etc. Anyway, due to economic reasons, I found myself working extra jobs, etc. to help my daughter through college and take care of other expenses. Consequently, I slipped away from church for awhile. Recently, I noticed something wrong with the vision in my left eye, and to make a long story short, after seeing two doctors, discovered I have a small hole in my retina. That very Sunday, I went to church to thank God that it wasn't something worse, and since that time, have been going regularly. I can't tell you the peace of mind I have. While I still might have to have surgery, God certainly got my attention and got me back "on track". It's something how troubles seem so much smaller when you're back in church and trying to live by your faith. I've had a lot of friends praying for healing for me for in 5% of the cases, the hole will close. Last time I visited the doctor, swelling had lessened and vision had improved somewhat. He said "Whatever you're doing, keep it up." I'm convinced prayer makes a difference as does the peace of mind I received by returning "home". Best Wishes, Dori |
