This post probably falls into the category of trivia, but I
thought it might be interesting to go back to October 1998
when the semi-equips bottomed on 8 Oct, and then took off on
9 October with much the same type of action as this year.

The question is - with a solid up day yesterday, what is the
likely action tomorrow(if anybody decides to show up for the
short session)? The following table shows what happened for
the Wednesday and Friday over Thanksgiving day in 1998. The
NASDAQ was up over 31 points for a 2 percent gain, but the
SOX did not keep up and the semi-equips were flat.
