Dannobee, political parties exist to promote and perpetuate themselves and their members, period. All the BS about what they believe in and how much they care for the "ordinary" citizen is snakeoil horseshit, designed to lube the voter for the inevitable anatomical assault that follows.

What "self" do political parties have if they exist to promote only themselves? Doesn't a political party exist to promote a view about policy and a candidate to realize that policy?

Pols seek office because they believe they can do good to the world. There is no other motivation. If you believe to the contrary, please tell me one. Money? Which pol doesn't have a load of money? You need a load to make it to the office. Power? What can a pol do beyond what is allowed by the pol's constituency? These aren't motivations to go through all the horrendous suffering to get in.

The idea that one bunch is right and virtuous while the other is totally wrong and evil is even dumber than most of the slogans the politicians spew themselves.

You assert that all pols are the same, so was Lincoln totally wrong and evil? Was Nixon right and virtuous?

The fact that anyone believes it is proof that the political party con jobs work.

The black people of NY vote 95% 'crat. Are you saying they've been conned?

FWIW, I worked in government public affairs for a long time all over the world. The process is the same everywhere.

You hated that system but it paid the rent. Therefore, as bad as it was, it was important for you for it to be maintained. Isn't that the same attitude you claim pols have? Whose anatomy did you lube?
