so without me drudging through economic statistics all day, you're saying that money supply and debt have grown at a reasonable pace compared to the economic growth of the US? And also you don't feel that the fed massages the numbers a bit to make things look a little better than what they are?

In some ways I agree that those guys get a little carried away predicting the demise of western civ due to derivatives and all that. I didn't believe the whole JPM derivative thing either but I read somewhere that they are the counterparty to $7 trillion in derivatives. I assumed that they would mostly act as the market maker and not as a counter party but apparently I was wrong.
