Sun delivers wireless Java to China Unicom wirelesssoftware.info 2002-11-27 Java already won the war (as far as mobile execution environments for low-end cell phones are concerned) but now Sun pushes wireless SERVICES based on Java technology. Sun Joins Hands with China Unicom for Java Wireless Services China Unicom and Sun signed memorandum of the project of "co-construct Java-based mobile data value-added services platform and system" in Beijing for applications of Java wireless value-added services. During the construction of the project, Sun will assist China Unicom to fully master Java technology and the current application situation by establishing standard on network, services system, terminal equipment, and confirming the mode of business, building framework of Java wireless technology, training technicians. Sun also will help China Unicom to choose providers of OTA services, software, terminal equipment, Java application software and contents. Meanwhile, Sun will provide hardware and software for China Unicom at a preferential price, and put forward its comments and suggestions for China Unicom.
