OT:I feel i have, however, found the culprit. I have this damned QuickTime program that keeps getting back into my start-up.
On the vanishment of my WSCity feed icon in start-up window i saw the QT icon appear in it's place.
For reasons unknown i have found if i keep start up empty except for System Tray/ScanRegistry/EM-EXEC/EMCLEAN/OEMCLEANUP and Motive Monitor i have amazing performance for just a 56modem--i can have 6 data feeds going at once, no problem.I also have no problem with run of the mill audio feed and video feeds.)
My operating speed when tested on GTI is 52--that is higher than many using a 56modem.
Here's frustration for you though, i have a DSL modem built into my computer, i have a Dual Fiber Optic feed from the telephone mainline to my house and there is a switching station 1/4 mile from my house, but i can't get Verizon to come here, they don't give a damn about rural zones.
I have dumped QT from start-up(again),and again and will return to my WS City feed to see what happens.
If it wasn't that my 98 has been so problem free for so long i am going to stick with it, if this doesn't happen again.
My feeling it is the QuickTime Program.
Am i anti-MSFT enough to NOT pay up for 2000windows? Yes:)
