Mr. Radbak said the U.S. Defence Department and another American organization will help fund research to develop one. The anthrax detectors went on the market last month. Fifteen have been sold, with fire departments in Chicago and Houston saying they have already used them to uncover hoaxes. Further orders are in the works, including one for seven in Canada.
