I sincerely hope so too....The motivation to open your hands should always be in regards to the generosity of God, and what He has done for us, not motivation by guilt...Our budget here is around $700,000 a year, and with our new expansion plans in action, it is my hope that the hearts of people will open and their hands as well to support this work...
I remember standing out on Thomas and Jenny Streets here in Bay City a number of years ago, waving tooth brushes at passing cars..Trying to get donations for Bay Arenac Center, for free dental care for needy families...People would turn a block before they saw me, or move into another lane, or gas it to make sure they made the light....I vowed I would never do that again...Guilt works, but it is not the motivation that God wants to see happening to support His work...In my terms, we call proper motivation, Gospel motivation, or good news about what God has done..
Sometime ask me the difference between religion and Christianity, you may be surprised at my response...
