The quote that I included in the opening is a Tom Clancy quote discussing Robert Heinlein from the flyleaf of Requiem. Heinlein's works have grown in popularity and never failed to spark controversy. Starship Troopers (c) 1959, which was made into a movie a few years ago was the novel in which Heinlein suggested that the only people allowed to vote should be soldiers who had successfully completed a term of service. Scribners thought the novel was too controversial to publish and summarily rejected it. The novel went on to become a huge success and caused a schism between Heinlein and Scribners that was never fully bridged. Heinlein felt that he was a member of the Scribners family and that the way they handled the rejection reflected poorly on his relationship with the editor and publisher. At some point during these years Heinlein resolved to never allow editorial tampering with his works.

I have a text for my speech here but I cannot read it. I cannot speak any more.
