What I am saying is perfectly real for the United States.

Improvements in agricultural methods and improved efficiencies in distribution of food have been bringing down the real cost of food for centuries, and continue to do so. An hour's wages in the United States will buy up to 20 pounds of prepared chicken meat today. Fifty years ago, an hour's wage would buy less than five pounds of chicken meat.
