food and fuel has *always* been cheap on a relative basis ('cept maybe the great depression <g>) in the US

but food prices are moving up. and heath care. and taxes.

in other words.

necessities or those items which have some pricing power...have been rising.

of course we have those $29 dvd's to make up for it....but how many dvd's does one need to buy to make up for the difference?
