The truth is, Americans (for the most part), have become brainwashed to believe that they deserve to have and maintain a higher and higher lifestyle. They have come to worship entertainment over hard work. They have slowly adopted the "if it feels good, do it" philosophy of life. And the leaders have been largely responsible for this in both their personal actions and their neglect or outright manipulation of their duty to SERVE the country. Most of these officials live in another world just as the financial heads do. Does anyone really need $15,000 wine or a home with 30,000 square feet? Should a guy who can run fast be paid $25,000 every time he touches a football? Should a pretty guy or gal receive $250,000 for shooting one episode of a TV show? Americans almost unanimously say, "YES". And the stock market boom of the 1990's sucked in the average Americans and twisted their perceptions about what is right and wrong and what is real and imaginary and what is moral and not. Is it really any different for the guy born with an ability to steal with a gun and a mask and the individual investor who justifies crooked accounting as long as their particular stock rises? When you have an entire generation who think they deserve more than others, who have little or no moral compass, and don't care about future generations, you have disaster about to happen. It's been building for a long time now, and the poorly-laid foundation is about to give way.

I remain,

SOROS
