Compare those numbers to the ones in the Washington DC table. Washington DC has a far greater crime and murder rate than Texas, but also has some of the most restrictive gun laws in the country. I don't know if you can draw any conclusions from the murder rate trend before and after Bush signed the carry law. Texans have always gone healed.
