You state in your post to Brian, tha t you have heard many moslims denounce the violence. However, I don't recall hearing the the Islamic leaders in the US; denouncing the violence and taking specific steps to distance this countries Moslim population from their brether in the middle east. For instance, I have no idea who speaks for the Islamic faith in this country. Farrakhan is one leader of one sect, and he has denounced the violence, but Farrakhan is the product of violence; from the Malcom X assination.

What is "Inmans"?

Actually it is spelled Imam. He would be the leader of the ayatollahs. Khomeni, at the time of the Iranian revolution was called the "The Great Imam", sort of like the pope. I have no idea who the current leader of the Islamic faith is now, much less his views upon the violence. Can OLB call a jihad for instance. What constitutes reasons for a jihad etc. While looking for proclamations by Islamic leaders, I came across this letter. It seems to express my sentiments.

So be it. Slavery being good was also view of majority one day. They justified it under the constitution and religion. Time will change that.

True, but slavery was common for thousands of yrs.; note that Rome depended heavily upon slavery. Slavery was a common consequence of losing a war for thosands of yrs. Islam doesn't have thousands of yrs. to change its image.
