It says what it says. It's not a matter of what I want. Madison discusses social compacts with respect to the Bill of Rights.

I'm willing to pretend that you're right and that the 2nd is an individual right. I can play that game. In which case, it seems to me that the assault weapons ban, the DC ban on handguns and perhaps some others that I'm not aware of are absolutely, blatantly, unequivically, unconstitutional. Even with the interpretation of US v. Miller as only applying to weapons that have a military value those two laws are flagrantly unconstitutional. It's a no brainer. Yet, for some reason the NRA doesn't seem to want to challenge the Constitutionality of those laws. Hey! It's an automatic "win" for two points.

So how come the NRA doesn't legally challenge those laws as violations of the 2nd?

Or if you prefer, you could argue why those two laws are constitutional.

You get to pick. [What a nice guy I am.]
