I hate to say this, but I fear that the Democrats are going to work harder on the Saudi issue than the administration. It looks like the State Department and the White House want to sweep it under the Oriental rug.

The bit about the donations coming in the form of cashier's checks really stinks to high heaven. If the charity was supposed to go directly to Basnan's wife, why not do it via direct deposit? Cashier's checks cost more, and are a lot more trouble than simple direct deposit, but have the virtue of being hard to trace when countersigned to a third party.
