i disagree that food is cheaper in the US than in, say, western europe. the only food that is cheaper is the hormone and steroid enhanced garbage that passes for "consumer" produce in our grocery stores.

real meat and real vegetables and real cheese and real fruit are no cheaper in the US than in, say, France. certain luxury brands excepted.
