Thanks for the download. I hate reading his stuff. This is about the only way I do read it.

Some good points in there. As like the rest of us, I feel your pain. I took a walk through Frys Electronics in Manhattan Beach and noticed that a very large display of Zip drives were out just as you walk in. Very visible with a good number available. 20-30. Internal Jaz were in the back with about 4-5 on shelves. No mention of $50 rebate, no sign. As you walk through the store I also noticed that every single computer came floppy equipped. Every low cost storage is a floppy. This is what KE is up against. It is a tough task. Towards the back the various storage solutions became a blur. I noticed Syquest upgraded the look of their packaging. Looking at everything all the drives become a blur, too much clutter.

KE needs to get to the $99 level to maintain the momentum. I was very suprised Europe had 40% of sales which meant US was somewhat higher ??????? We are the computer industry. No other nation has as high of a thirst for computers. Why didn't we make up 70-90% ? Given the current group of OEMs that KE has, why don't the OEMs use the drive ACROSS their ENTIRE line ???? OEM announcements have been good but we need slam dunks !!!!!!!

BTW, in our company we used to use the Bernoulli as the high capacity standard. Now its the Zip drive. Due to the size of the co, it is important to standardize. I checked with our help line and only 1 call for a corrupted file (virus from the user).
