Hold or trade? There are daytraders and weektraders and month traders and then there are buynholders.

To say Holding is the "road to ruin", depends on if this is 6 months or 10 years.

To say Trading has a "negative expected return", may be true, but depends on the timeframe of 1 day or 1 month.

All of these will have different levels of risk and expected return.

You seem like you are arguing different things.
