It's unfortunate that state governments are so under the thumb of the public-employee unions that they can even DARE to say they've "cut spending to the bone" and then ask for tax increases.

I don't yet see the streets of state capitols clogged with newly-unemployed bureaucrats heading home because their agencies and programs have been ELIMINATED.

I don't see any teacher strikes yet. Close down the schools for a semester or a year, and THEN tell me those greedy bastards have been "cut to the bone".

The intellectual corruption of much of state government is rampant...
