Everything is very different from everything else. Even one atom is very different from every other atom. One pixel on a computer screen is very different from every other pixel on a computer screen.

The term at issue, let's not forget, was "important" differences. Are these differences important or not? And is every distinction always either important or not important, or is a distinction sometimes important and sometimes not important?

That is the starting point and still unresolved issue of this discussion. Let's not lose sight of it until we have agreement or have reached a place where we accept that agreement is impossible. In either case, we should move on. Until we have reached either place, we should keep the discussion focussed.
