In macroeconomics it is 'assume you can construct a strictly rational account of cummulative behaviour from individual behaviour'.

Depending on what you mean by all that, we might well agree. I don't think it's terribly important for you and I or for the thread that we get deep into this particular subject, so I'm passing up an attempt to take this further. And I should add, that agreement, of course, won't take me to Hayek. But then differences are what make conversation interesting.
