Sean, the ascending triangle is a classic chart pattern. For an ascending triangle, (quoting from the text) "the implication is bullish, with the expectant breakout through the horizontal line."

Using charts is an interesting trading tool, and the bible of the chartist's school is "Technical Analysis of Stock Trends" by Edwards and Magee. I recommend it to you, as it helps explain the general characteristics of many other chart patterns and technical indicators.

As for BROC, the time period I'm referring to is from mid-April to early May, when it jumped from $3.00 to a little over $6.00 in a little over a week before pulling back a bit. Quite impressive.
