Interesting, but not practical. The distinction between news and opinion has to be maintained, or there will be endless wrangling over sources of information and their alleged partisanship. Besides, to many cities are now one newspaper towns, despite the nationalization of certain papers (USA Today, the Washington Post, the New York Times), and would therefore push only one biased viewpoint if there were no journalistic standards......
