This isn't really news as it was also mentioned in the last conference call. All wireless telcos have awakened to the fact that they misread the public's demand for 3G. No one has it yet and even those who go the 3G route won't get there for 2-5 years. 2.5G, including CDMA's 1x is nothing more than souped up 2G, barely a half step towards 3G. The telcos went the inexpensive 2.5G route because it gets them the most for the least. So far the public has been underwhelmed by all wireless products except voice. And DC is the only distinguishing feature in the industry. NXTL has it; the other guys don't. Nationwide DC fills the DC gap and any telco venturing into DC-like services will have their hands full competing with NXTL.
