Voice is still King and with capacity for 22 million customers using the new vocoder, why spend money on 3G? That's Nextel's position, and I agree. The only constant about technology, is that it's always changing. Always something better coming on the market. Why spend money now when in a few years something better, and probably less expensive, will be available. Nextel built the first 2.5G network from the ground up and their competitors are just now catching up. In a few years Nextel will be the first to offer 4G (whatever that is) and leapfrog the competition again. Hold off spending for as long as possible is the mantra of the times.
