Maybe you should know that corn was GMO from Tripsicum by the Mayans. It looked like grass and had one stem with 8 seeds.

<<Right now about 75% of all genetically modified food is owned or controlled by 4 US companies.>>

Yeppers they did the work and developed the patented product.

<<Your beloved small family farm is not only squeezed on the front-end by having to buy new seed every year instead of using seed they produce themselves, >>

Seeds from any, any, any hybred corn only germinate 20%. To get 99.7% germination you have to buy seed corn.

<<The claims of higher yields by GM corn are not being born out as originally expected.>>

Now that just shocks me. My corn base has gone from 119 to 165 per acre. GMO isn't just about added yields though. It's about growing corn that's less prone to insect damage so less pesticide is used, or do you want to go back to using tons of DDT? Also getting more oil or protien from grains.

<<5. The European resistance to GMF is not so much about unfounded fears, which may not prove to be so unfounded after all, but also resisting being steamrolled into turning over control of their food supply to the suits at Monsanto and ConAgra.>>

Bingo, you got this one right. The Europeans are way behind in producing GMO grain. Once they catch up it will be fine with them.

By the way, the average Amercan eats 9 GMO products every day.
